If you want to get your child (son or daughter) started in youth motocross here are the guru’s suggestions(rules).
-
I must be positive at all times with how I think, speak and and act when at the track.
-
This is a fun activity, kids will respond better, learn more when the are having fun. It’s their opinion that counts.
-
If possible, I recommend that you ride together with your kid. Riding is a great family activity, my son and I treasure the times we spent riding.
-
Look for and race with organization that give participant rewards.
- Encourage your child to find and make friends that ride. Peer pressure is a great aid to learning.
- Find a teacher that your child can relate to. An older rider with a ability to communicate at your child level is what you are looking for
- Check and make sure what your health insurance covers. Most have exclusion for motorized competition. AMA offers a supplemental insurance .
-
Big Safety thing here. Find a track with separate your track or practice times for big bikes and youth.
Big tip here!! You can’t win every race but you can have fun at every race.!!!!!
Remember ERT
e- positive enforcement
r- respect listen to your child
t- allow your child to learn at their pace.
Above all Let’s have fun out there…..
