Two stroke mx bikes are gaining in popularity. The easy of maintenance and the low cost of the parts (as compared to a four stroke mx bike) makes the two stroke an ideal choice for the motocross racer on a budget. Check out this video from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and see just how easy replacing the two stroke top end is. Couple of thing to note:
1. That rag in the case under to piston is a big must, you drop anything in there it has to be removed before it gets into the rotating crank and causes serious damage.
2. Make sure you pre-lube the parts (wrist pin, bearing and cylinder) prior to assembly, this prevents premature wear.
