How to replace your two stroke piston and rings, two stroke top end rebuild?
Two stroke mx bikes are gaining in popularity. The easy of maintenance and the low cost of the parts (as compared to a four stroke mx bike) makes the two stroke an ideal choice for the motocross racer on a budget. Check out this video from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and see just how easy replacing the two stroke top end is. Couple of thing to note:
1. That rag in the case under to piston is a big must, you drop anything in there it has to be removed before it gets into the rotating crank and causes serious damage.
2. Make sure you pre-lube the parts (wrist pin, bearing and cylinder) prior to assembly, this prevents premature wear.
